Prophetic Appointments: Hearing God’s Heart

Throughout Scripture, God used prophetic voices to guide, encourage, and reveal His heart to His people. From Samuel’s word to Saul (1 Samuel 9:15–27) to Agabus foretelling events in Acts 11:27–28, prophecy has always been a way God speaks to His people — not to predict for entertainment, but to edify, exhort, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). The prophetic anointing is a gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4–11), given so that the Church may be strengthened and believers may be aligned with the will of God. It is not fortune-telling, guessing, or mystical intuition. Prophecy is the Spirit of God revealing His truth, His direction, or His encouragement through a yielded vessel — always in agreement with His Word and character. Just as Saul and his servant sought out the prophet Samuel to hear from God, these prophetic appointments offer a sacred moment to pause, listen, and receive.
