I pray you eat in plenty and live satisfied in soul today. In Jesus’ name. Amen
There are times when life begs for transition—something new, different, exciting or refreshing. That is, we’re unhappy with our progress or position and change really sounds appealing. There are two likelihoods at work: Either God is stretching you or you’re under attack.
If you’re being stretched, the conflict and dissatisfaction you feel is God leading you towards expansion in character or purpose. Your best response is obedience. Just trust Him. If you’re under attack, however, it is a spirit of discontentment that provokes jealousy, anger, bitterness and depression; in the end it will ruin cherished relationships, jeopardize great opportunities/jobs, and have you melancholy needlessly.
Here are your options. You can stay in that state until you’ve lost it all, or you can do the following:
First, take authority over it. It is a spirit sent to deceive, delude or skew your perspective and steal from your life, and you’re the only one who can stop the attack, in the name of Jesus.
Second, reject the strategy. The plot is to keep you self-absorbed. It’s called, selfishness! When focus is on you alone, you’ve lost God’s meaning for life—which is to love, bless and help others.
Lastly, be thankful. Resist the heart of an ingrate by maintaining a heart of thanksgiving. Every time you feel like you’re losing or your denied, voice what you’re thankful for. Not in some religious manner, but really look at what you have and remember the story behind it, then sincerely and conscientiously thank God for His grace, mercy and kindness.
When you evict the spirit of discontentment your outlook will change, and you’ll appreciate how sweet your life really is!
