ORACLES: Lesson 63

We all need a respite from responsibilities from time to time, and I’ve heard it said, “you’re going to live in your tomorrow so it may as well be the one you planned”, which means, you must put fun in the plans for your tomorrow!

If your current financial state will not allow a dream trip, it’s okay, stay on your course of money management, and plan for next year. In the meantime, go to a closer destination. You may not be able to go to the tropics, but you can go somewhere for the day. Take the day off and drive to a neighboring city to visit an old friend. Tour the other side of town, or just take a bike ride. In other words, get out of your routine. If you can afford a dream trip, go for it! Spend it in a five-star hotel and treat yourself special. Get a massage, take an enjoyable class for the day, or just sleep in! Make plans that will be memorable and enjoyable without guilt. Even God rested on the seventh day!

Now, when you plan, don’t neglect God in the process. Whether you take a day off or a couple of weeks off, give God the glory before you leave, while you’re away and when you return. If your time away is a financial sacrifice, don’t spend the money you’ve designated for God for yourself. Honor Him and trust that the discipline you use to enjoy yourself while still giving to Him is the kind of sacrifice that ensures your next vacation or time away is that much more enjoyable.
