Life offers plenty of experiences that make the strongest of us feel isolated, condemned and/or shame. It’s not necessarily everyday that we like to talk about issues that make us feel in such a way, but it’s not everyday that we should live with the weight of issues—whether, we brought in on ourselves or they intruded in our lives.
The best way to carry something heavy is to allow others to help you. In the same way one person doesn’t try to move a sofa from a truck to a rooms interior, you shouldn’t try to lift burdens that were not meant for you to carry. You need to talk!
Talking to people is often the perfect remedy for issues that overwhelm, and as much as we may assume that we’re alone in situations that’s usually true because we’re too stubborn or proud to welcome others into our lives.
God has someone around you to talk to. In fact, they are there to help you and you should let them. Maybe they are an ear to listen, maybe they are the voice of wisdom, maybe they offer better perspective, whatever they could be, you’ll never know if you shut the world out. Even more, someone needs to talk and the gifts and talents God has put in you are for the sake of those around you.
You ability to make people laugh, confide, or reassure is the attribute the strongest of needs from time to time. Don’t make it tough for others to enter your world and don’t stay in your world as if you’re alone.
God gave us each other and the sooner we recognize the beauty in relationships, the sooner we’ll walk in the freedom that comes from healthy unions, bonds and camaraderie.
