ORACLES: Lesson 56

Resolve to be strong in the Lord! When you do, you honor God and He in turn will honor you because you demonstrate faithfulness before your Heavenly Father, and the faithful man shall abound with blessing (Proverbs 28:20). Faithfulness is a character trait founded upon trust in who God is and what He has promised.

There are so many broken people who claim trust in God, and while contrition draws God to us, brokenness can also be defined as dysfunctional and that rarely if ever breeds confidence in the immortal and invisible God—especially when so many mortals have brought disappointment and contributed to overall distrust. It doesn’t mean you cannot trust, but it does mean you have to intentional to trust and conscientiously let go of the insecurities easy to revert to.

To hope in God is the best approach to life but it comes from knowing that God is not just with you but He wants the best for you. I’m reminded of Psalm 92:12, “The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Meditate on that premise found throughout the scriptures. Know that God is not just able to take care of your life, but He’s willing to. Psalm 33:9-11 reads, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Again, meditate on that Truth and the many references of the same. And always know that God will not lie to you.

If you ever feel disappointed in your faith, consider, God didn’t let you down, rather, it may be time for a self-evaluation. The only fallibility within a relationship between man and God is found within man. Which means, you owe it to yourself to know God’s ways and align yours with His so that you can see His results.

Faithfully honor the Lord your God.
