ORACLES: Lesson 51

No matter who you are, you are not on the path of life alone. Not only is God with you, but also some people are strategically placed in your life, for your good.

It’s easy to live independent of others or to shut people out for various reasons. It’s easy to love on your own terms and much harder to receive love from those around you. Yet, that’s exactly what God wants you to do. He wants you to receive from others just as much as He wants you to give!

God placed people in your life so that you can be accountable, so that you can be challenged, and you can grow. They were sent by God to make you better, even stronger. As strange as it may sound, Peter needed Paul to call him a hypocrite (Galatians 2:11-14), Esther needed Mordecai to challenge her initial response to the problem (Esther 4:10-14). The young Saul needed the servant to tell him to see the prophet (1 Samuel 9:5-6). And you—well, you need the people around you too.

Don’t dismiss the people who can make you better. So, they may be an aggravation— it means your patience will increase. So, they may have a lot of questions—it means, you’ll be a better thinker. So, they never agree with you—it means, you get another perspective. So, they’re negative—it gives you a chance to hear yourself when you want to complain.

My point is, it’s easy to discard people, but maybe God put them in your life for your wellbeing or betterment. Everybody’s not toxic! So, reconsider the meaning of those around you. Then, receive the gift they are to your life. People are not perfect, and you are not alone. See value in every relationship and watch yourself grow!
