There was day when I wanted to talk to God but had no place to begin. I wanted to reiterate some issues, but at onset I told Him that I would trust Him. I wanted to fellowship with Him, but “I always say that”, and so,…I began to worship. It was a song from my heart to our God. It was a song of honor and praise based on the melody from within. Before I realized it, “Wonderful” was my refrain: You are wonderful, Simply wonderful, Completely wonderful, Wonderful, You are...and again—just plain wonderful!
I’m telling you this because sometimes worship is the one action item we forget or minimize in our relationship with God; and I’m not talking about using someone else’s song, I’m talking about using your sound with your lyrics to your Heavenly Father. Not only will you get God’s attention, but also you will shirk away from any weight and heaviness, defy any sense of apathy, dodge loneliness, and create an atmosphere that welcomes God.
Worship is the way to the heart of God. As you boast on who He is and what He can do your own issues pale in comparison to His beauty and holiness, as God Himself is revered, honored, adored and lauded! The best part is, He initiates a conversation with you that you found hard to begin.
When you worship you not only welcome His presence, but also His power.
