I remember being at high school games where the pep, enthusiasm and confidence of cheerleaders influenced the crowd’s response and ultimately the team’s response in games that looked like a loss was inevitable. Cheerleaders would rally the crowd to cheer louder and stronger until the score-gap closed and the odds were broken.
With plenty of tense moments, invariably the intensity from the shouts and chants would cause opponents to unravel with frustration and mistakes; which in turn would cause the crowd to amplify, roaring with fervor and many times ushering an unforgettable upset!
Life is not a game, and you may not have anyone around to cheer you on when you feel like the underdog, but that doesn’t stop you from cheering yourself into victory! If you start cheering the One who upholds your life you can comeback with an unforgettable upset!
Here’s the secret: Applaud God’s goodness! That’s right! Change your reality with a joyful sound of praise to God. Cheer God on in your life! Be proactive and make good come to you. Celebrate what He promised no matter what’s going on in life. Don’t wait for a change of facts before you give thanks for “the win”. If cheerleaders wait until the team is ahead, it would be too late.
Lure the blessing towards you. It may be a sacrifice of praise, but that’s what we’re called to offer God, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15) That’s what it means to use your faith! Worry does no good, but faith knows what’s possible and acts like it…just like those cheerleaders!
