ORACLES: Lesson 32

Don’t be easily flustered. You’re stronger than that.

All of the promises read in God’s word should elicit the same kind of peace the promise of salvation gives to us! How reassuring it is to know “He who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) Yet, when pressure comes financially or relationally for example, we’re easily flustered, easily bothered and unnerved. The reality is you can handle whatever it is you face in life, good or bad, if you’re focused properly.

There are times in life when we’re drowning, when we’re uncomfortable with our current circumstance, or we’re experiencing a churn within that eerily feels like grief, when no one has died. Maybe the anxiety has gotten the better of you in past but it doesn’t have to today. You can choose to turn your attention away from the pressures that make you flustered and turn them towards the rock of your refuge, Jesus.

When you experience difficulty and problems growth in character, integrity, and/or overall maturity becomes possible. It’s an opportunity to grow—a growing pain. And while growing and stretching is never comfortable it makes you a stronger, wiser, and better as an individual. You may feel like you’re drowning but remember to focus on Jesus, who is your lifeline and lifesaver. He continues to save even when we are uncomfortable.
