ORACLES: Lesson 3

“Every minute counts. Manage your time so decisions come from the mouth of God and not the haste of flesh.”

Time waits for no person and with every passing moment each of us has an opportunity to maximize or squander the days, hours and minutes given. We can choose an emotional response to life and wonder where the time went, or we can invite God to help us navigate through life so that every moment counts for something.

I have found the best way to maximize time is to make God first no matter how limited or constrained time is. Whether in the morning before departing for the day or in pursuing dreams and goals, if you will stop to acknowledge God in all of your ways, He truly will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:6) so that you are using your time efficiently and making the most of every moment.

Joseph had a vision that seemed delayed, yet he obtained the promise because he put God first. (Genesis 37) Joshua put God first and obtained the promise at eighty-five years old stronger than before (Joshua 14:9-11). Personally, I have seen my time redeemed after waking up late in the morning, and I’ve also experienced restoration of time as opportunities that I thought were lost, were presented to me, all because I put God first.

First, I sought after Him in the morning. First, I honored Him with my life and my gift. And, first, I inquired of Him before the counsel of man. He has been first. And because He was first, He has shown me great favor. Which means, I have no doubt that He will also show you great favor when you put Him first in your life.

With the decision to put God first He leads, He guides, He provides, He restores, He promotes, He honors, He reveals, He strengthens, and He redeems time. When you put God first, you should also prepare to be amazed!
