People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you. - 1 John 1:9
Clearly no one is perfect and we all falter in our faith or make decisions that are contrary to God’s will. Yet, with every failing that separates us from God, we have an opportunity through the blood of Christ to draw near to Him, through repentance.
The grace of God is sufficient! So much so that wherever there is sin in your life, His grace abounds, it supersedes, that much more (Romans 5:20). Grace enables us to “renounce secret and shameful ways” (2 Corinthians 4:2) without judgment and to “lay aside the fruitless deeds of darkness” (Ephesians 5:11) without shame or condemnation. The grace we receive enables us to come boldly to His throne no matter who we are, no matter what our past and no matter how we feel. Sin is the barrier to God but grace offers access to God!
God is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) if we will confess our sin. In other words, if we’ll go to Him and not shy away from Him, He will hear us, receive us and renew us! That’s what the blood of Jesus is all about: God’s love and God’s grace.
